Two staves, one great taste
While our 2019 Limited Release was the result of a single stave profile (RC6), it took two stave profiles (SE4xPR5) – developed in partnership with Independent Stave Company and ultimately utilized together – to achieve the perfect balance of vanilla and caramel in our 2020 Release.

10 years of Maker’s Mark 46™
2020 is a special year for the Wood Finishing Series, marking the 10-year anniversary of the bourbon that started it all: Maker’s Mark 46™. We began with a barrel of fully matured Maker’s Mark at cask strength and then inserted 10 seared virgin French oak staves – stave profile 46 – into the barrel and finished the bourbon for nine additional weeks in our limestone cellar. The result was a remarkably smooth, yet distinctly bolder and more complex whisky.
